Overview

Planmed XFI is a full-body cone-beam CT system. Planmed describes whole-body imaging in standing, weight-bearing and supine positions, with applications including musculoskeletal imaging of the lower back and pelvis.

Positioning and workflow

The system has a motorized patient table, laser-guided positioning and a 360-degree gantry rotation. The current English brochure describes a 43 × 43 cm flat-panel detector, an 85 cm opening and a field of view up to 23 × 44 cm. Acquisition workstations and DICOM 3.0 and RIS/PACS connectivity are documented by Planmed.

Planmed cites FDA 510(k) K250318 and states that the clearance excludes head imaging. This manufacturer statement is specific to that regulatory clearance and is not a claim of commercial availability in any market.
